This tradition of floating iris leaves in the hot water has been continued since the Edo period, with the hope for children's health. From 3-MAY for three days, 2000 iris leaves will be placed in six communal baths. Of course, it will also be held in private baths at Kobayashiya, so please enjoy this traditional custom.

城崎温泉では５月３日から３日間、「しょうぶ湯まつり」として、６つの外湯で合計２０００本のしょうぶが浮かべられます。

しょうぶ湯は江戸時代、武家の子どもが勝負に勝てるようにと、げん担ぎとして始まり、今も端午の節句に健やかな成長を願って、しょうぶ湯につかる風習が続いています。

もちろん小林屋のプライベートバス（内湯）でも５月５日の端午の節句まで、しょうぶ湯が楽しめます。
