A town named after a hot spring - “Yumura Onsen”.

Yumura Onsen is a hot spring town where people have grown up with the hot springs.
At the heart of this onsen town is "Arayu", the high temperature water source.
The water flows naturally at 98 degrees Celsius and you can see the local people using it in various ways, such as cooking.
You can also cook “Arayu tamago” (hot spring eggs) and it will take about 10 minutes.
While you wait for it, you can enjoy foot bath at the same place.

For the specialty products, there is a fresh Matsuba crab (snow crab) caught in a local port in winter season (Nov. – Mar.).
Tajima beef is also famous in this area. Tajima cow is the original cow of the other famous beefs, such as Kobe beef, Matsusaka beef and Omi beef.

You can reach Yumura onsen directly from Osaka and Kobe by express bus.
For train, the nearest station is JR Hamasaka. Please take the local bus from JR Hamasaka station to Yumura onsen.

From Yumura onsen area, you can visit some attractive sightseeing spots, such as Kinosaki Onsen, Takeda castle, Himeji castle, Tottori sakyu (sand dunes), etc
