This year is coming to an end.　In Japan, people celebrate new year by going to the temple and shrine to offer their prayers and wishes to bring peace and prosperity throughout the year. Normally, new year in Japan is celebrated from the eve until the 3rd of the January.

The shrines and the temples will be crowded on the new year. The nearest and the biggest shrine in Hamamatsucho is Zoujoji temple. It is considered to be one of the oldest temple in Tokyo. The temple is open 24 hours to the public on the occasion of new year.

You can see the lightning of the Tokyo tower until 23ｐｍ. Most of the shops and the restaurants might not be doing its business in new year. So make sure to check once before going to places. It will either be over crowded or less crowded in between

Even though on the new year eve the train will be operating 24hours its better to check the time schedule of the arrival and the departure of the train.
