The silver yarn installation is a response to the internal structure of Yumoto house, forms are created through weaving between internal structures. The yarns reflective surface catches light acting as a drawn line through space. The repetitive traces of human activity are captured in drawings on delicate Japanese tissue paper. Ink is dropped and dragged into pools of salt water with various domestic cleaning brushes, as if sweeping the floor. Once dried, gouache is dribbled delicately over the surface, as if the sweat and blood of the maker has left their mark. They look as though a composer is penning thoughts, letters are hidden within. Scribes lines are referenced in silver leaf to punctuate the chaotic rhythms of marks.
