The name comes from the color of the animal's skin, not from the actual meat itself.
The black pigs are fed with sweet potatoes for 8 to 9 months

当ホテルのしゃぶしゃぶは、鹿児島黒豚という特別な豚を使用。

黒豚というのは、お肉が黒いわけではなく豚自体の毛色が肌色ではなく黒なのです。

この豚は、8〜9か月の間はさつまいもをたべて育ちます。その影響もあり、ほのかな甘さを感じることができます。とてもおいしいです。
