Walking the Dog:
Kuresaka Walking Path Restoration Project
Since moving to the Kuresaka area of former Kuni village, have been walking and clearing trails in the nearby mountains. My piece for this year’s biennale is a circular trail, about 18 kilometers in length, that connects the ridges surrounding the little river valley known as Kuresaka Kogen. The entire trail takes about 6 or 7 hours to walk, but during the biennale, I am giving tours of two parts of the trail that take only about 2 hours. The tours will take place on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays, beginning at 10 AM and 2 PM and starting at the teahouse on Kuresaka Pass. They are free of charge. No reservations needed. Sturdy shoes advised. Dogs welcome.

“Dog Walking Road Tour” (2 hours course)
Open Saturday, Sunday and holidays
At Kuresaka Bokusui Chaya (tea house) / Free to participate
I maintain mountain roads in Kuresaka Kogen as work. It takes the whole day but I will guide you to some parts of it. Using the teahouse as a base, there are two two hour courses on both sides of the mountain. I will guide you on other days with a reservation. Please come with appropriate shoes, long sleeves and trousers. Dog owners are of course welcomed. Come to the tea house in Kuresaka toge at the meeting time. Artist: Stan Anderson

2015.9.12(sat)-10.12(mon) 9:30-17:00
There are scenes that don't change,
Historical Onsen towns, mountain villages with a silk industry,
Wooden school buildings stuck in time.
Everywhere becomes the stage for our journey with art.
