Japanese popular comic,”Here’s the police in Kameari park,Katsushika prefecture ”, “Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Kouen Hashutsu-jo”in Japanese has been read for over 35years.
We call it “Kochi Kame” in short and I used to enjoy watching it on TV when I was a girl.
The main character of the animation is Kankichi Ryotsu, Ryo-san, is so unique police man and he has many fans.
He is surely far from an ideal police man that everybody longs,(I mean his words are not polite and not good looking), however he is really nice guy.
His way of speaking is just like people in down town and the wild tone of voice ,rough words are kind of tools to hide his delicate mind.
I think this is a feature that most of all Japanese men have. (Japanese men in good and old days)
Now, you can see Ryo-san on movie and Kameari is becoming hotter and hotter.
Every summer, children come all the way to Kameari police(It does exist!) and ask the police man,” Is there Ryo-san?”

「こち亀」で有名になった葛飾区亀有駅前で撮影した両さんの像です！
映画の上映もあってか子供達の姿を多く見受けました。（近くに映画館が入っているショッピングモールがあります。）
1976年に作者の秋本治氏が週刊少年コミックに連載して以来実に176巻を更新し、アニメは勿論、実写版の映画でも大人気の「こち亀」こと「こちら葛飾亀有公園前派出所」。
口は悪いけど心優しい両さんのキャラクターはまるで下町育ちの男性のよう。
（「男はつらいよ」でお馴染みの寅さんにも似たところがありますね！）
ところで、この亀有公園派出所は実在します。そして毎年夏休みになると真っ黒に日焼けした子供たちが自転車に乗ってお巡りさんに尋ねるそうですよ。
「あの、両さん、いますか？」
