About Ehime

Ehime Prefecture in Shikoku faces the Seto Inland Sea. A beautiful sea and mountains blend with cultural facilities such as the world's largest planetarium. It is famous for its iyokan, mandarin oranges, and kiwi fruits. The castle town which is now Matsuyama City is home to Dogo Hot Springs with a 3000 year history, the vast Matsuyama Castle, and the literary greats Soseki Natsume and Shiki Masaoka. Visitors can also enjoy gourmet food which uses the abundant local seafood, such as Jakoten.
