青森県最高峰の山、岩木山のふもとで誕生した黄金色のりんご。はじめは「金嶺」（きんれい）と命名され、のちに現在の「金星」（きんせい）に改名しました。
その見た目の美しさから贈答用としての人気も高く、名前が「きんぼし」と読めることから縁起物としても扱われます。

Pomodomo Apple Introduction
This golden apple, born at the foot of Mt. Iwaki, the highest peak in Aomori Prefecture, was originally named Kinrei and later renamed to Kinsei. Its beautiful appearance makes it a popular gift, and because its name can be read as "Kinboshi" (meaning "golden star" in Japanese), it is also seen as a symbol of good fortune.
